Terms of use

Last updated: 17 October 2026

These terms cover your use of ConvertEbooks. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What ConvertEbooks does

ConvertEbooks converts ebook and document files between formats. Most conversion runs in your browser. Scanned pages may be read by free local OCR or, if you choose it and have an account, by an AI vision model operated for ConvertEbooks.

2. Local conversion and free OCR

Local conversion and local OCR do not require an account and do not consume AI pages. Free local OCR downloads recognition data from a public CDN the first time you use a language; after that your browser may cache it.

3. Accounts

The AI reader requires a ConvertEbooks account created through Google sign-in. You are responsible for the Google account you use and for activity under your ConvertEbooks account. You must be old enough to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

4. AI pages and payment

Every new account receives 10 free AI pages. After that, AI pages are sold in one-time packs. There is no subscription, no automatic renewal and no stored card for recurring billing. Prices are shown in US dollars; taxes and any local-currency amount are calculated at checkout by Paddle. Pages do not expire. A page is charged only after the AI reader returns a transcription; a failed request is not charged.

Paddle.com Market Ltd. and its affiliates act as our merchant of record. They handle the checkout, payment details, tax and invoices. Their terms may also apply.

5. Refunds

Unused AI page packs may be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Pages already consumed are not refundable. See Refunds for how to ask.

6. Your files and responsibilities

You keep all rights in the files you use. You must have the right to convert them and must not use ConvertEbooks to infringe copyright or to circumvent technical protection measures. ConvertEbooks does not remove DRM. We may refuse a file or stop a request that appears to violate these terms.

7. AI reader data

When you choose AI OCR, the rendered page image and a language hint are sent to our server and then to our AI provider for the sole purpose of transcription. We do not store the page image or the returned page text on our servers. Account, usage and payment records are stored as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use ConvertEbooks to break the law, to attack or overload the service, to bypass page metering, to resell AI access as if it were your own, or to process material you do not have the right to process. We may suspend an account for abuse, fraud or non-payment.

9. Availability and changes

ConvertEbooks is provided as-is and as available. Conversion quality varies by file and scan quality. We may change or discontinue features, add safeguards, and update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the date above. Local features should continue to work even if the hosted account service is unavailable.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ConvertEbooks is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of profits arising from use of the service. Our total liability for a paid order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law.
